Uses of neem – Neem is a deciduous tree of Indian origin that can reach a height of 15–20 m (about 50–65 ft). It can sometimes be as high as 35–40 m (115–131 ft). Its branches i.e. branches are spread far and wide. The stem is erect and short and can be up to 1.2 m in diameter.
Its bark is hard and fissured and its colour can be whitish-grey or red or brown. The leaves are 20–40 cm (8 to 16 in) long, with 20 to 31 dark green leaflets (neem leaves). Its flowers are white and fragrant. Its fruit is smooth and oval and is called Nibouli. The rind of the fruit is thin, pulpy and fibrous, whitish-yellow in colour and bitter-sweet in taste. Its kernels are white and hard, containing one or sometimes two to three seeds.

The use of neem is beneficial for hair problems.
- Soak neem seeds in the juice of bhangra and decoction the bark of asan tree and dry them in the shade. Do this several times. - Boil neem leaves in water and let it cool down. By washing the head with this water, the hair becomes strong, and hair fall or hair loss stops. Apart from this, it is beneficial in many diseases of the head.
- If there are small pimples between the hair in the head, the pus comes out from them or there is only itching, then the use of neem gives better results. Washing the head and hair with neem decoction and applying neem oil (Neem ka Tel) daily in such minor diseases give immediate benefits.
- Applying ground neem seeds or washing the head with a decoction of neem leaves kills hair lice and nits.
Use neem to get rid of the headache
Make a fine powder by mixing dried neem leaves, black pepper and rice in equal quantities. Before sunrise, put a pinch of this powder in the nose on the same side of the head where there is pain. - Heat 40 ml neem oil and 5 grams of beeswax on fire. When the wax melts, mix 750 mg of puffed alum powder in it and keep it in a bottle. Putting 3-4 drops of this mixture twice a day stops ear flow (use of neem).
- Cook 40 ml juice of neem leaves in 40 ml sesame oil. When only oil is left, filter it and put 3-4 drops in the ear. Ear bleeding will stop.
The use of neem is beneficial in eye diseases.
- Humming the juice of tender neem leaves, drip 2-2 drops in the ear of the eye which has pain. If there is pain in both eyes, drip in both ears. The pain will end.
- Tie neem leaves and powder equal to Lodhra in a bundle and put that bundle in water. Putting 2-3 drops of this water in the eyes cures eye swelling and pain.
- If there is pain along with swelling above the eyes and itching inside, then grind neem leaves and dry ginger and mix some rock salt in it. Heat it slightly. Keep it on a cloth strip and tie it on the eyes. This eye disease gets cured in 2-3 days. At this time the eyes should be protected from cold water and cold wind. It would be better to do this experiment at night.
- Put half a kilogram of neem leaves between two earthen pots and put them in the fire of the condo. After it cools down, mix the inside ash in 100 ml lemon juice and dry it. Fill it in an airtight (in which air cannot enter) bottle. Applying this ash to the eyes like kajal provides relief to the itching and burning sensation of the eyes.

Coarsely crush 50 grams inner bark of neem and boil it in 300 ml water for half an hour and filter it. Boil this filtered bark again in 300 ml water. Take 125-250 mg of neem inner bark ash with 10 ml of curd twice a day. It is beneficial in amatisar i.e. loose motions.

Mix 5 grams of ghee and 10 grams of honey in one gram of fine powder of Neem Panchang. Consuming this removes anaemia in the body and cures jaundice. If one does not like ghee and honey, then one gram of Panchang Churna can be taken with cow’s urine or water or cow’s milk.
Grind 6 grams of neem shell and 6 grams of white punarnava root in water and filter it. Drinking it for a few days provides relief from jaundice.
Take Neem leaf, Giloy leaf, Guma (Dronapushpi) leaf and small myrobalan (all 6-6 grams) and crush them all. Cook it in 200 ml water. Filter after remaining 50 ml. Mixing 10 grams of jaggery in it and taking it twice a day gives special benefits to jaundice. Before consuming this decoction, lick 200 mg of Shilajit with 6 grams of honey.
Jaundice occurs due to blockage in the bile duct, then mix 10-20 ml juice of neem tree, three grams dry ginger powder and 6 grams honey.
